In order to maximize your hunting time and avoid fatigue, we can provide charter flights to camps at extra cost. These flights depart from Windhoek.

Baggage on charter flights

Each client will be allowed 44 pounds (20 kilos) of baggage on charter aircraft. Your safari kit should be packed in soft-sided baggage.

Vehicles

Our vehicles are generally for-wheel drive equipped Toyota Landcruisers. We have a radio network between vehicles and the lodge.

Climate

During the Hunting season the mornings are cool and the days are comfortable .August to October warm up and the temperature would be more like Arizona in the summer, hot and dry, thus shade offers needed relief.

Recommended Clothing

Bush clothes should be loose, comfortable and sturdy. Dark green light cotton is best with the ability to layer. Soft noiseless clothing is very important and camouflage clothing is not required. Laundry is done daily. A war, jacket or heavy jersey is necessary in some areas for the cool of the evening, night and morning. Good footwear and hats are essential.

Medical information

Malaria can occur, but Ombengu is not a prime area for the disease. The dates which offer the most risk would be in the rainy season from October to March. Visitors are advised to take precautions. New drugs have recently come on the market and it is recommended that you consult your physician for specific requirements. These new drugs are important for children.

Visitors are advised to invest in a medical travel insurance policy. Many of these emergency fleet services consist of fixed winged aircraft, rapid response vehicles and ambulances. Local medical doctors are available two to four hours from Ombengu.
