Environmental Conservancy Group supports hunting at Ombengu as more than a game management tool. Hunting is a heritage of mankind passed from campfire to campfire and should exemplify the knowledge and acceptance of our oneness with nature.

I have been blessed with the opportunity of many memorable hunts around the world with my bow and I love the chase and savor those special moments with nature. Hunting for me is not about the kill but the process of hunting in harmony with nature. On a given day I have received as much pleasure in taking a game bird with my bow as taking a Cape Buffalo in the same manner. The hunting on Ombengu Ranch was created to represent the best of our core bow hunting values. Ombengu also recognizes that some of the worlds most qualified bow hunters are within the ranks of those who have not always enjoyed the best hunting grounds and are unknown to the press. We all share a special bond with nature and with each other and Ombengu welcomes you to share a wonderful African experience with us that will transcend the hunt and offers the spiritual experience of our mutual heritage.

Many of us who hunt strive to maintain the heritage of pristine private and public lands, wild places and wild things. Land is precious; we have so little for so many creatures. Our individual love of nature, often passed from generation to generation, is a defining force in the actions of others and in the outcome of issues related to the natural world. We wish to promote the concept of sustainability for all life and the heritage of hunting.

How tall we stand will always be reflected in and balanced by the image and duty and sacrifice of those who have gone before us. How we hunt reflects on the hopes and dreams of those who follow us. We each play a significant role in the solemn duty of creating a heritage of opportunity which values hunting and values the significance of a healthy protected, yet participatory, environmental experience. We each in some special way consecrate the past sacrifice of others by our actions today and stand in special duty representing the hopes and dreams of not only the living but also those who have gone before us.
