Ombengu Management

Ombengu and Mopane Conservancies are a part of Environmental Conservancy Group and together strive to offer first class service in all respects. Operations are handled by staff with years of experience in hunting, fishing and tourism. Professional Hunters that understand the land, the animals and understand your need for a traditional hunt will supervise your individual safari. They are all highly qualified in the hunting of African game, are good field naturalists, experienced at judging trophies, and proficient at tracking. They have special experience in bow hunting both on a technical and personal basis. Ombengu will be the base for all logistics and communication with the field. While some of your booking details may be handled from your own country the primary contact for your trip will be Ombengu.

Lodging

Our lodges are located on private hunting lands owned and operated by us. While we hunt and fish on various concession areas, we believe that a remarkable quantity of Namibia's diverse game and scenery is at Ombengu. Our guests clearly see the vast country on a traditional safari, we also offer luxuries meant to pamper. Elegant rooms help create a serene atmosphere. Each room has a veranda overlooking the majestic landscape and a private bath.

Care

Ombengu has a kitchen staff that sees to the needs of every guest. Camps have a deep freeze, solar power and generators. Fresh fruit, salads and vegetables are available from Outjo and from Ombengu gardens on a regular basis. Special dietary needs will be catered with advance notice at the time of booking requested. We see your requirements as our responsibility and an ever-attentive staff will strive to meet your desires.

At Ombengu you will enjoy modern communications including direct telephone, computer services, e-mail, fax and satellite uplink for a visual look at the world news and market. For those who wish to escape these worldly intrusions, we will arrange to have distractions kept to a minimum.

Medical Information

Malaria can occur but Ombengu is not a prime area for the disease. The dates, which offer the most risk, would be in the rainy season from October to March. Visitors are advised to take precautions. New drugs have recently come on the market and it is recommended that you consult your physician for specific requirements. These new drugs are important for children. Namibia does not have a national health welfare system. Visitors are advised to invest in a medical travel insurance policy. Many of these emergency fleet services consist of fixed winged aircraft, rapid response vehicles and ambulances. Local medical doctors are available two to five hours from the ranch.
